### Given half reactions

I was just studying, and I couldn't remember a very important concept. If we are given the half reactions and the E of reduction for both, how do we know which half reaction to flip to be oxidation? Thanks!

### Cis or trans in long chains

I understand how to determine cis or trans in simple examples, but I don't understand how to do it with long chains such as the one shown on page 105 of the course reader, 3,6-dimethyl-3-octene. Is that cis or trans and why?

### Meaning of orders of rate laws

I understand how to calculate the order and how to use them, but I'm a little confused what exactly they mean in relationship of the reaction. Can someone explain what it means for it to be zero, first, or second order in the actual reaction?

### Constant Temperature and Pressure

In lecture, Lavelle said that because Gibbs free energy is a state function, it doesn't matter the course or how it got there only that it did get there. But then we talked about that it must be at a constant temperature and pressure. Does that mean that temperature and pressure can change throughou...

I know this may seem like a really silly question, but I just wanted to double check because this would be a hard mistake to fix. ### Measurable Wavelike

In class, we calculated the wavelength of a car and electrons. We found that the car didn't have any measurable wavelike properties at 1.64 x 10^-38 m, but that the electron had measurable wavelike properties at 1.4 x10^-10 m. My question is what value or range of values is considered "measurab...
