If you were to mistake hexane and spell it as hectane, would those be very wrong answers? or forgivable?

Chapter 4, homework problem #4.11 part d, asked to draw the shape of Xenon Trioxide. I did so using single bonds for all 3 Oxygen molecules and the electron count seemed to be right, but the answer in the student manual have the 3 Oxygens, double bonds. How do we determine single or double bonds?
