To calculate the work from B to C, it appears a variation of the work equation was used. Instead of volume, pressure values were used instead. Why is pressure used instead of the volume? staggered vs eclipsed stability
I think I just misheard Dr. Lavelle in lecture, but I kind of confused myself as to why a molecule favor an eclipsed position as opposed to a staggered position? In my head, I guess I rationalized that the electron densities would favor a staggered state because of election - electron repulsion.

In the course reader, the lnW in the Boltzmann equation is said to be statistical and that in there being a large error, then it would result in a small error in the thermodynamic property, S. I'm not entirely sure what the statistical aspect of this equation means or represents.

affect of multiple lone pairs on the central atom
I understand how having a single lone pair affects the molecular shape of a molecule, but how does having multiple lone pairs on the central atom affect the shape? Do the lone pairs go one side as one electron cloud, or are they one different regions around the central atom?
