I guess in simpler terms you can say q = heat in general, whereas H (enthalpy) = qp which is heat at a constant pressure.

well from the formula for enthalpy H=mass x specific heat x change in temperature. if you increase the change in temperature, then H would also increase.

If derivatives will be covered on the exams, will knowing the simplest formula/ setup of the derivative suffice, or will we have to know each step of the derivation process?

state functions do not depend on the path, you only need to be concerned about the initial and final state

I believe he only posted numerical value solutions because he wants us to figure out how to get the solutions ourselves.

Does anyone know if the questions are going to be multiple choice or worked out? Also, how many questions are there going to be on the quiz?

I think essentially he was trying to say that L can be 0,1,2,3,4,... however the corresponding orbitals were s,p,d, and f so there was no further orbital for any value after 3. It is possible for the L-value to have values greater than 3 however they occur at a higher level.
