In one of the problems, it states that in an isolated system has +5 kj in it and asks what delta U is after 100 years. Because it's an isolated system, energy isn't exchanged so delta U must be 0. Can someone explain simply the rules of Delta H of Formation and the number of moles involved in the reaction? What has to happen to the number of moles both on the reaction side and the product side for it to be a formation reaction?
