Practice Final 2015 9b Alcohol vs Hydroxyl

If we were to be given the molecule instead of the IUPAC name, how would we differentiate between using the hydroxyl components of naming vs the alcohol components. (-ol vs hydroxy).

I know that midterm just passed, but would anyone be interested in getting study room in the first floor tomorrow night at around 7 to go over material from the last few lectures? Mostly over chapter 17 material covered this past Friday.

Hey! Well for the next two nights I may be quite busy but I would be more than happy to have a study session on Thursday Night. I wont be back on the Hill until around 6 so do you think you could reserve a study room for the group? I think a solid time would be around 7 and up. What do you think?
