When looking at an equation say HCOOH + NaOH =(equilibrium sign) HCOO- + Na+ +H20, how do you know if the reaction priiduces Ka or Kb?

You will more than likely be asked specifically to draw a resonance structure, you won't typically know to do it on your own without instruction.
