Re: Numbering of Substituents [ENDORSED]

I have been very confused on the numbering of substituients after reading these posts I hoped to be more sure on how numbering works, but alas I am even more confused. I noticed that someone endorsed Christians post about the rules for ordering numbers, but his post doesn't take into consideration w...

Re: 2/24/17 Bruincast

I sent many messages to bruincast and they got back to me saying that it's my wifi connection that's the problem. But I'm using UCLA web res when I try to connect it always gives me failure. Did y'all get a solution from bruincast- they said it's not the files that aren't working, but ucla wifi isn'...

Re: When B and C is significantly larger than A

I also don't understand this in my opinion "significantly large" is very subjective, so I am also confused as to how we know if one or two of the reactants are in "large excess" in comparison to another. I hope lavelle goes over this.

Re: Hess Law Problem 8.55

Hi so the reason why only the O is multiplied by 3/2 is because the Oxygen is in the form of O2 so the division by 1/2 is necessary to match the single O on the opposite side of the equation in order to make the equation balanced. The other members of the equation BaO and Ba are multipled by 3, so t...

Re: CH 8 Which HW Problems to do first?

I cover Thermochemistry (experimental data/observation) before Thermodynamics (theory/equations) because students find it easier to understand the theory and equations if they can be related to experimental observation. Chapter 8 starts with Thermodynamics and the (approximately) second half of the...

Re: CH 8 Which HW Problems to do first?

Should we read all the topics of every chapter before the lectures? Or is there a certain order we are expected to read the textbook in? Also, are we supposed to do all of the homework problems before the lectures as well?
