Chair conformations [ENDORSED]

For two chair conformations of Trans-1,4-dimethylcyclohexane (pg 112), why's one chair conformation more stable than the other one? Aren't they same?

Butane - Gauche formation

For the Butane conformation, why's θ=120 degree has a higher energy than θ=60 degree? θ=120 degree is further than θ=60 degree, so shouldn't this be weaker in energy?

Nucleophile and Electrophile

In the book, it says F (Florine) is an electrophile since it wants more electron. Then does that mean Li (Lithium) and Na (sodium) are nucleophiles??

Instantaneous rate

When calculating the instantaneous rate, do we always have to compare initial slope of tangent of all reaction? If yes, why??

Cell diagram

On the cell diagram of the equation on pg.48 of the course reader, why's there a comma between Fe3+ and Fe2+ instead of | sign? We use | between Cu and Cu2+ but why not between Fe3+ and Fe2+?

In U=q+w equation, does q always has to be under constant pressure? Are there any exceptions?
