A catalyst will appear in the steps of a reaction mechanism, but it will not appear in the overall chemical reaction (as it is not a reactant or product). you are right. In an isolated system, heat, mass and energy cannot flow from the system to its surroundings or vice versa so they equal 0.

When using the integrated rate law you can determine the concentration of a substance at any given time. The differential rate law is only applicable to initial rates when t=0.
