I believe it is there because the OH (alcohol) group is attached to the 1st carbon

The second number (-5) is not in regards to the methyl, it is talking about the pentanehexane.

If a a reaction is at equilibrium is it always the limiting reactant because it's slower? Or is it faster and the other is limiting?

You're like an exothermic reaction, you spread your hotness everywhere.

You must be a good benzene ring because you smell pleasantly aromatic.

Re: Final Exam Details and Review Sessions Winter 2017

Is the final more geared towards information covered after the midterm? Or will it focus equally on both halves of the quarter?

Re: Formula Sheet for the Final Exam

I would not imagine Lavelle would change the formula sheet from what we already have given that we are already comfortable with it.

Re: Specific Heat Capacity

I just assumed it was under closed conditions and make q(total)=q(Cu)+q(H2O). Then sub out for the actual equation: q=mC(sp)deltaT+mC(sp)deltaT. Plug in the values for mass, the given specific heat capacities of Copper and water and the change in temperature is the same for both.
