Chapter 2 #35 and #44

In chapter 2 of the Introduction to Organic Chemistry book, the answer to #35 is N-methyl-N-ethylpropan-1-amine. The answer to #44 is N-N-diethylpropanamine. Why is it that the 1 is excluded from the answer to number 44, even though both structures have two substituents and a three carbon chain?

Re: Naming [ENDORSED]

It seems like there are a lot of structures in the Introduction to Organic Chemistry book that could be named using either -neo and -iso or sec, tert, etc. Is there a specific time and place for using one form versus the other, or are both acceptable forms of the name?

Two atoms are walking down the street. One atom says to the other, “Hey! I think I lost an electron!”

The other says, “Are you sure?”

“Yes, I’m positive!

A 50.0-g ice cube at 0.0 C is added to a glass containing 400.0 g of water at 45.0 C. What is the final temperature of the system? Assume that no heat is lost to the surroundings. I don't have the solution manual so I'm just checking my answer with the back of the textbook, and I keep missing the ri...
