Winter 2013 Midterm Q5A

I noticed on question 5 a) of the 2013 midterm that when the chemical reaction was balanced the coefficient of the O2 was left as 9/2 instead of multiplying everything by 2. Can we leave our coefficients in this form for the midterm or should we use only whole numbers? Thanks!
