Can someone explain what the standard reaction enthalpy is and how it's different from the standard enthalpy of formation? I'm confused about the way it's worded in the course reader.

I don't exactly get what it means when the reaction tends "to the left" or to the right" or if equilibrium "sits to the left or right." Can someone explain it?
