Hello,
Since the number of bonds determines the coordination number, does it matter if there are double bonds or lone electron pairs on the central atom? Do those affect the coordination number at all?

I know that cations are smaller than their parent atoms, while anions are larger. What is the reason for this? Does it have to do with the positive and negative charges of each one?
