for that same problem, i understand that you have to balance the hydorgen and electrons but why is it 2H+ when there is only 5 on the reactant side and 4 on the product side?

Reaction Enthalpies HW Q49

The question asks for the internal energy for the reaction of 1.00 mol. I understand that you use the internal energy equation. But how do you know if the reaction is in constant pressure or not. How do you know for which questions you can use qp or just q.?

Re: Molecular Orbital Theory

In molecular orbital theory, bond order is also defined as the difference, divided by two, between the number of bonding and antibonding electrons; this often, but not always, yields the same result. Bond order is also an index of bond strength, and it is used extensively in valence bond theory.

Re: Orbital Nodes

There are four nodes total (5-1=4) and there are two angular nodes (d orbital has a quantum number ℓ=2) on the xz and zy planes. This means there there must be two radial nodes.

Photoelectric effect

Can someone please explain the photoelectric effect? I understand that when the ultraviolet radiation source hits the metal with enough intensity the electrons jump off. - the shorter the wave=higher frequency - further, increasing intensity= increasing photons The real question is if the threshold ...
