Honestly it should be two sig figs but I'm pretty sure the they were just trying to save ink. Also, we should be given constants and formulas.

I understand what you're saying and you are correct because since you have a longer wavelength you have less energy. And if E(photon)<(work function the electron) then the electron will not eject.
