Re: con = h/v question
Yeah whenever Lavelle writes it, it looks like an h, but it's really an n, which refers to the number of moles :)

No you still don't include solids

Re: Quiz 3 Prep 2 # 2
You go by alphabetical order when you are NAMING the compound, but when you are writing the formula, you write the anion ligand before the neutral ligand.

you just answered your own question lol if k is in between those values, then neither the reactants or the products are favored. if it is less, then reactants are favored, and if it is greater, then the products are favored Actually, if k is between those values, it is still considered product favo...

Fall 2015 Midterm Q1A
Q1A. reads:
2A + 1B ----> 3C
If one mole of A is mixed with one mole of B, which is the limiting reactant?
The answer says that A is the limiting reactant, but I really don't understand this. Wouldn't B be used up faster because there's less of it? Can someone please explain this to me? Thanks

Re: Dipole Moment
Dipole moments tell us about the charge separation in a molecule. The larger the difference in electronegativities of bonded atoms, the larger the dipole moment. For example, NaCl has the highest dipole moment because it has an ionic bond (i.e. highest charge separation). When atoms in a molecule sh...

Re: Balancing Chemical Equations
In high school I learned how to balance chemical equations by taking "Atomic Inventory." So, what I do is draw a vertical line down the middle of the equation, separating the reactant side from the product side. Then, on each side, write the letter of each element you have and make little ...

Re: Light as a Particle vs Light as a Wave
Light acts simultaneously as both a wave and as particles. And yes, the "particles" are the pockets of photons that cause the light to behave in that way. "Particle" and "photon" are referring to the same thing in this case. It's called Wave-Particle Duality, where the ...

So for your final answer to any problem, you're only supposed to use the least amount of sig figs as were provided in the problem? Like if the problem mentions numbers with 3, 4, and 5 sig figs, our answer only needs to have 3 sig figs?
