On quizzes and exams, is there going to be an instance where they are going to ask us to use a specific method to calculate total enthalpy difference, or are we just going to use whichever method we are more comfortable with?

How will amphoteric and amphiprotic substances show up on the exam? Do we just need to be able to identify them and explain what they are, or are there other things about them that might pop up on the exam?
