page 161 of the course reader

Why on page 161 when we got x=9.2 x 10^-6
did we take the ph= -log[H3O+]=5.04 and not take 10^-6?

Charge of an ion

How do I know the charge of an ion? Is this just something that needs to be memorized or is there a way to find this out?

Determining K or Q [ENDORSED]

This might be a stupid question but how do you know when to use K and when to use Q? Will the question always state either at equilibrium or what?

px,py,pz [ENDORSED]

When writing the electron configuration on the test, will we be required to write out px,py,pz?
Or is p^3 etc. acceptable?

orbitals

When writing out the orbitals in class it was shown 1s^2, 2s^2, 2px1, 2py1 ......

On the test should it be written like that or is it acceptable to write 1s^2, 2s^2, 2p^2

thanks

units

If you converted lets say milliliters into Liters in order to solve a problem and then left the answer in Liters will you get marked down? Should you always convert it back to the original unit?
