So does that mean if the question uses 3 sig figs, we use 4 sig figs throughout the calculations, then round up (or down), will we get points of for being inconsistent? Do we have to maintain sig fig numbers when we can easily round up/down?

I don't understand why is one of the steps to subtract and not divide between the metal hydroxide and the sulfide when it is asking to look for the molar mass? How are we suppose to know when to use one operation over the other?

Hey Buddy! So to answer your question, after you divide by the smallest number, each element will have their molecular formula's number and multiplied by their atomic mass.
