Naming Ethers

when naming ethers is the number in front of the -oxy group based on the long carbon chain or do we start a new number order for the short chain? i.e. the example from class today

It is also important to note that addition reactions will only occur with carbons who have multiple bonds and will normally not affect any other part of the molecule

I find it helpful to define reversible as "perfect." If a process is reversible it will function perfectly at a constant rate meaning that the reverse could be done the same way.

Using bond enthalpies to calculate the change in enthalpy we know that when bonds are formed they release energy and will have a negative (-) value. Basically, change the products to negative and keep the reactants positive. Ref. page 16 of the course reader.

Question 1.33 on the homework

On part C of problem 33 the answer key asks us to consider the kinetic energy of the electron but I was wondering why we couldnt find the wavelength directly form the energy calculated earlier.
