Will alkenes and alkynes be considered as function groups for the final? Or is everything fair game where we have something like an alkyne with an alcohol functional group?

4.5 asks to identify the ambident nucleophile: (a)NH2CH3; (b)CH3O-; (c)SCN-; (d)-CH3. How do we identify the ambident structure? Do we have to draw Lewis diagrams?

In class and discussion we've talked a lot about examples of open and closed systems. I'm having some trouble finding isolated system examples. What are some more examples besides the ones we talked about in class?
