On the winter 2015 final, question 10A, do the phenols count as alcohols? Because I only count 3 alcohols and the solution says there's 5 :/

It shouldn't matter which rxn you flip, as long as you give proper follow through with the sign change

for this problem to calculate work, since the internal energy is zero, would one just use w=-nRTln(v2/v1), or use w=-nRTln(p1/p2) and add it to

In lecture we saw that $\Delta S= k_B R ln \frac{v_2}{v_1}$
So why is that the same as $\Delta S= k_B R ln \frac{W_2}{W_1}$ ?
