Lavelle you are a great teacher you really cares about your students. I appreciate the extra mile you went for us when it came to office hours and PLRs. I hope you have a fantastic break and continue teaching the way you have been.

From what I understand, torsional strain is when electron densities are to close(like in an eclipsed conformation) and steric strain is when atoms are too close together. I know that you want to avoid having an intermediate molecule in your rate law but is it okay to have a catalyst in your rate late or are you suppose to substitute it somehow?

Do stoichiometric coefficients affect the integrated rate law of reactions. For example say a first order reaction was 2A-->B+C would the two have any effect on the equation k[A] or ln[A]=-kt + ln[A]0?

Redox reactions [ENDORSED]

For number 3 on the chapter 14 book problems one of the half reactions is Cl2 + 2e --> 2Cl-. Im petty confident this is a reduction reaction because Cl gains electrons but the answer key says Cl2 is the oxidizing agent. Can someone explain?

So this notation translates to Ni(s) + Ag+(aq) --> Ni[2+](aq) +Ag(s). Since reversible reactions are isothermal will the change in internal energy always be zero meaning that heat and work will have the same magnitudes but different signs?
