Aliphatic vs aromatic hydrocarbon

Could someone explain what the difference between aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons is? I did not really understand their definitions from what the textbook says about them. Thank you!

Homework Question 15.55(a)

Hello,
on question 15.55 the statement of part (a) is: For a reaction with a very large equilibrium constant, the rate constant of the forward reaction is much larger that the rate constant of the reverse reaction. Could someone please explain why it is true?
Thank you very much!

Balancing on acidic vs basic solutions

Hi,
I wave a doubt regarding how having a redox reaction on an acidic or a basic solution affects the balancing of the equation for the reaction. Could someone explain how to go about the balancing of the equation for each case?
Thank you very much!

Re: Chapter 8/Example 8.3, page 270

But those values do not coincide with the results the example gives that are for part a) +33 kJ and for part b) +12 kJ. Why are the values different?

Chapter 8/Example 8.3, page 270

In the little diagrams to the left, I do not understand on part a) where the 8.4 kJ come from and on part b) the 3.0 kJ (next to the red arrows). Can someone explain this please? Thanks you!
