Since there are lone pairs on oxygen, and since lone pairs are indicative of nucleophiles, H2O is a nucleophile.

The rate constant for a second order process depends on the initial concentration of a reactant, whereas this is of no concern for a first order reaction.

If you separate the compound, you'll receive NH4+ and Br-. Thus, the chemical equation will come out to be NH4+ + H20 -> NH3 + H3O+. Therefore, since NH4+ is a strong acid, the pH will be below 7, for acids are solutions with pH less than 7.

First, use the equation v=c/lambda to get frequency = 2.922 x 10^15 Hz. Then, use the Rydberg equation to find n2 since you are aware that n1=1. After you find n2, you can identity the transition from energy level 1 to another energy level, which should be n2=3.

Usually, the problem will specify what the units it wants the answer in. However, also be aware that Joules is given in kilograms, meters, and seconds, so when cancelling units in equations, make sure that other units are converted into these before doing the problem.
