Chemist B: A stick has two ends and no beginning. Thermodynamics has two ‘beginnings’ (the first and second law) and no end.

I believe they are written different than the "normal" Lewis structures because all the compounds listed are ionic, so their structures look a little different from that of a compound consisting of covalent bonds. Hope this helps!
