Chapter 4 (Question 61)

4.61 Give the valence-shell electron configurations and bond orders for CO and CO + . Us e that information to predict which species has stronger bonds. In the answer, CO has a valence-shell electron configuration of (σ2s) 2 (σ*2s) 2 (π2p) 4 (σ2p) 22 Why would it not be (σ2s) 2 (σ*2s) 2 (π2p) 4 (σ2p...

Online Modules

I find the online modules given by Professor Lavelle extremely useful and a great resource to review material, especially for the first quiz next week. Is there a possibility of having future material (i.e chapter 2) given as modules and used as a resource?

Naming Chemical Compounds

I haven't taken chemistry since sophomore year of high school and I'm a little rusty naming chemical compounds. Does anyone have a knowledgable source where I can brush up on this topic?
