Re: Naming [ENDORSED]
The "tert" is before "butyl" to show that the 4 carbon substituent comes from 1 carbon being connected to 3 other carbons rather than it just being a chain of 4 carbons associated with "butyl" by itself. Hope that helps!

When determining if something should be delta negative or delta positive or nothing at all, what exactly do you look at? Whether something is an electrophile or nucleophile? The transfer of electrons? I don't fully understand and would really love some clarification. Thanks!

Practice Quizzes in Course Reader
Is there a key for the practice quizzes in the course reader (I could not find the answers inside)? If not, will we have access to the answers at some point so that we can check our answers before we take our real quizzes?

That was the understanding I got as well but if anyone has a more concrete reason for why we can do that, it would be great because I'm afraid to employ that method for fear of being wrong

Re: Electron Configurations for D-Groups
I believe that Cr has a ground state electron configuration of [Ar] 3d^5 4s^1. So my understanding was that when it becomes Cr^+, the electron is taken from the highest energy shell. And being that the 4s is on the end and counts as the highest energy shell even though 3d appears after it, the elect...
