I've attempted this question multiple times but I still can't get the right answer. Is it because I used the no. of moles of the products and reactants without converting them into concentration or partial pressure? I didn't do it because the conversion factor of all the terms would be the same and ...

d-block electron configurations
Are there any tips/tricks/shortcuts to memorizing electron configs for d-block atoms? I know for Chem 14A purposes we only need to know exceptions for Co and Cu, but what about the rest?

Use of symbols
For quizzes/midterms will I be penalized for using different symbols to denote certain quantities? E.g. I'm more used to writing energy as rather than , since for me is velocity (speed) and is frequency.

Physical states in chemical equations
When asked to write down the chemical equation for a reaction, is it necessary to know and write down the physical state of all reactants and products in the reaction? I.e. should I write
NH3 + O2 → NO + H2O
or
NH3 (g) + O2 (g) → NO (g) + H2O (g) ?
NH3 + O2 → NO + H2O
or
NH3 (g) + O2 (g) → NO (g) + H2O (g) ?

I agree with Samantha. I didn't do Chemistry during my A-Levels so that adds up to almost 3 years without studying Chem, but Professor Lavelle's videos and pre-assessments really helped me get back on track. Also try to read ahead every week! For me it makes the transition a whole lot better.
