For chair flipping, you flip the two triangular parts (the back of the chair switches to footrest and vice versa). In doing so, the axials flip to equatorials. If you type in chair conformation flip on google, there are some really good drawings!

Dr. Lavelle, I can say that I've thoroughly enjoyed being in your chemistry class. I've learned so much in the class even outside the course material through this class. If the pressure isn't constant, the reaction is most likely reversible. Therefore, the internal energy of the system would be 0 as all energy would be conserved.

In the textbook, the irreversible process given as an example is a piston where external pressure increases but results in no movement in the piston. How does that work and how exactly is that an irreversible process?

Bronsted-Lowrey deals with the transfer of a proton. Lewis acid and bases deal with the transfer of an electron pair. Note that a BL acid donates a proton whereas the Lewis acid accepts an electron pair

Also note that in chemical equilibrium, though equilibrium is constant, the reaction itself isn't static. There is just movement in the forward and reverse directions

I would check the formal charge. I checked formal charge in the practice quiz and got a different lewis structure. Since it doesn't have the answers with it, I can't be completely positive, but you may get different structures.

What exactly does it look like if an atom absorbs energy? Does it change into more kinetic energy of the atom?
(i.e. If an electron absorbs a photon from n=2, moves to n=5, then comes down to n=3, what does the energy not let off as light do to the atom?)

We talked about this in my discussion lecture today! Our TA said that we will be given the value for the conversion as well as values like the masses of protons, electrons, and neutrons.
