Nomenclature Practice (Final)

It's truly the most comprehensive site I've used so far, and ...

Exergonic vs Endergonic Reactions [ENDORSED]
I know it seems like a very simple thing to memorize, but are we expected to know the difference between these two types of reactions (with respect to the values of K and the Standard Gibbs Free Energy of Reaction)?

Reaction Mechanisms
I noticed that there are quite a few reaction mechanisms mentioned throughout the o-chem textbook. Which ones are we responsible for understanding? All of them I presume?

Extra Practice for Determining Rate Laws using Initial Rates
I found this website while studying for the second quiz. It provides great examples with detailed explanations of the solutions. Thought it was a pretty neat tool for those who are still confused about rate laws, or those who simply want to get some extra practice in before the quiz. http://www.chem...

Thank you for the responses. I bought the course reader, and I'm already noticing a difference in understanding of the material. Thank you both for responding!

Chem 14B Course reader
I took 14A with Dr.Lavelle last quarter, and I didn't do as well as I wanted to. I thought it might be because I switched into the class late, or because I had trouble adjusting to the classes here at UCLA. In any case, I did spend an enormous amount of time studying, but it felt like the exams were...

Re: CH 8 Which HW Problems to do first?
Will there be a list of recommended readings for each chapter? Like a certain chapter or section of the textbook to read before each lecture? Without knowing we would begin the course with thermochemistry, I spent the week before instruction began studying Ch.8, beginning with thermodynamics. Altho...

Dipole moment
When we're looking to investigate the dipole moment of a compound such as water, it would make sense to find that there are polar covalent bonds involved. As a result of the partial charges distributed among the molecule, it would seem water has distinguishing characteristics. Although it's not dire...
