Re: Question 3.55
A & D are not considered radicals since their octects are complete. B & C are considered radicals. CH3 has a total number of 7 valence electrons. WHen drawing out the Lewis structure one can notice that one electron is not bonded. Since all hydrogen has their bond and carbon does not, its oc...

Re: Lewis Base and Lewis Acid
A Lewis base donates pairs of electron
A Lewis acid is the acceptor because it accepts pairs of electrons. An example of a Lewis acid is the H+ ion.

Re: orbitals an shells [ENDORSED]
shells are the energy levels whereas orbitals are found in subshells.
For example, shells have subshells that are the following: s, p, d, f. Within these subshells we have orbitals. P subshells have 3 orbitals (px, py, pz), d subshells have 5 orbitals, and so on.

Class Lecture Work Example Question [ENDORSED]
During lecture when Dr. Lavelle walked us through the worked examples using De Broglie's Equation I was a bit confused on the second work example when calculating the wavelength of an electron traveling at 5.3 *10^6 ms^-1. I need clarification on why we used 9.11*10^-1 kg for the mass and how we got...
