solution concentration formulas
When do we use [Molarity = (moles of solute)/(volume of solution)] vs [M(initial)V(initial)=M(final)V(final)]?

Re: solution concentration formulas
Hi,
M1 and M2 are used for dilution problems, while molarity is used to calculate concentration.

Re: solution concentration formulas
And can used them together if you're trying to find the concentration of a solution when given either 3 of your M1V1=M2V2 components.
for example when trying to calculate the molarity of the final solution when given some initial and final values.
Hope this helps!

Hello, the Minitial and Mfinal equations are used in dilution problems, where you will usually be given either the final or intial volumes. The Molarity equation is used when you are trying to derive the concentration of a solution.
