Hi! For this question
"How many grams of NaOH do you need to prepare a 3.0 x 10^2 mL stock solution of 2.00 M NaOH?
How does the set up begin for this?

Hi Ashley!

To set up this problem you want to use the Molarity equation: (Molarity = moles of solute/Liters of solution).

We are given the Molarity (2 M NaOH) and the volume (.3 L) and we must solve for the moles of solute (NaOH).

Once we get our n, moles of NaOH, we can then find out how many grams we need by multiplying the moles by the molar mass of NaOH (39.997 g/mol NaOH).
