I was hoping that someone could possibly explain to me question G. 9

A chemist studying the properties of photographic emulsions needed to prepare 500.0 mL of 0179 m AgNO3 (aq). What mass of silver nitrate must be placed into a 500.0 mL volumetric flask, dissolved, and diluted to the mark with water?

Hi! So this question is a determining solute concentration, so you will start by using the equation M(initial)*V(initial) = M(final)*V(final). With the measurements that you are given, plug in the values and then use systems of equations to get the mass of silver nitrate.

Actually for this question you multiply the molarity of AgNO3 which they want (.179 M) x the volume in liters ( .500 L) x the molar mass of AgNO3 (169.88g/mol) to get the mass in grams of AgNO3 needed.
