memorizing

Does anyone have any tips on memorizing the formulas? It'd be a big help. The formulas not matching the first letter of the words can be very tricky (i.e. N(atoms)=n(moles)Na(6.022/10^23)

If this is for tests and what not, I'm fairly certain that a formula and constants sheet will be included for every test so we won't need to rote memorize anything (at least here was one for this week's test).

If this is for general use, I'd suggest just understanding the formulas rather than memorizing them. For instance, in your example, if you know 1 mole of a substance has 6.022 * 10^23 atoms in it, then you can use dimensional analysis to get the number of atoms.

I would focus on understanding the concepts then the formulas will make sense and you will understand how the problem works making the formulas a breeze.

Writing out the units usually helps with understanding what the next step is. For example, molar mass is g/mol and to find the number of mols for a certain mass. You would take the mass and divide it by the molar mass. This would cancel out the grams.
