Unit Conversion for Molarity/Dilution
When you're solving a problem that has the mL unit do you convert the mL to L before you begin to do the work or do you do it after you've solved the problem? Does it matter?

Yes, if the question asks for the answer to be in Liters. Most of the time it will tell you if it does want it in liters. But either way you should be converting it to liters.

It's easier if you convert it to L first because it's typically the standard unit you measure volume in chemistry, unless they ask you to put it in mL.

When you calculate the molarity, you should convert it to the SI unit L before you calculate so you don't forget to do it at the end.
