Molarity formulas
can someone remind me what the molarity equations are? I remember that there was more than one, and I can only remember the M1V1=M2V2 formula. Is there more?

Re: Molarity formulas
The formula for molarity is moles of solute divided by liters of the solvent. The M1V1=M2V2 formula is for dilution problems and then another equation which can be acquired from rearranging the molarity formula is molarity x volume = # of moles. Hope this helps!

Re: Molarity formulas
Hi! In addition to M1V1 = M2V2, there's also m = n/v
m= molar concentration
n= moles of solute
v= liters of solution
m= molar concentration
n= moles of solute
v= liters of solution

Re: Molarity formulas
Hi, yes the molarity is the concentration of a substance in a solution and the equation for molarity is M= n moles of solute/Volume of solution in L. Hope this helps!
Re: Molarity formulas
There are only 2 you need to know. There is the one you said M1V1=M2V2 which is used in dilution problems. The other formula is the one for molarity which is M=n/v (n= number of moles, v=volume in liters).
Re: Molarity formulas
This stems from Molarity is equal to moles (n) over Volume (L). The amount of moles in a solution is always the same no matter the amount of solution. That is where you get your equation from.
