Electron Transfers

Postby Daniel_Sands3L » Fri Mar 11, 2016 1:12 am

Are there any tips for drawing in electron transfers between two organic compounds, for instance, in an SN2 reaction?

Always draw the arrow starting from the electron source (either a lone pair, or a double bond), and have the arrow ending where there's poor electron density (usually a proton H+, or some molecule that has a positive dipole)

I suggest just looking at examples online. Just google "sn2 reaction examples".
