Functional Groups Overlapping

Postby Lisa Tang 1C » Fri Mar 16, 2018 12:08 am

Is it possible for functional groups to overlap? For example, can an aldehyde contain part of an amine?

No, there are many different functional groups, but they cannot overlap. I believe you are talking about the question on my practice test which I will go over in the review session.

Will we be expected to make distinctions within functional groups on the test? For example, being able to identify what type of amine group?
