Final 2014 Question 6

For this problem, do you have to find the mechanisms through the rate law? or would the steps be given?
if we have to find the mechanisms through the rate law, how do you do it?

They give you the whole mechanism, i.e. they give you all the steps. You just have to draw the curvy arrows (i.e. you just have to make sure you can identify which species are the nucleophiles and which are the electrophiles, and then draw the nucleophiles attacking the electrophiles)
