Electron flow arrows

When drawing the electron-flow arrows, is it necessary to indicate the dipole of the molecule(s) (by writing either δ- or δ+) to explain why we are drawing the arrows? Or do arrows suffice?

I don't know if it's mandatory to indicate the dipoles, but I don't think it would hurt. It may help you figure out how to draw the arrows and prevent you from making any mistakes.

By what my TA says, when asked to draw the reaction mechanism, the arrows should be enough. Indicating the dipole isn't mandatory but it can help avoid mistakes. Just make sure that the tail of the arrow starts from the nucleophile and points to the electrophile.

The dipole arrow directs attention to the molecule's more electronegative atom or element.

I don't believe it is necessary to indicate the dipole of the molecules but it can be used as a guideline while you are drawing your arrows. Adding them probably isn't necessary but if it helps you then you can.
