Gas Constant

Postby Juskarun Cheema » Sun Mar 06, 2016 3:42 pm

Is the gas constant in calories, 1.987 cal/Kxmol, always given or do we have to solve for it using 4.18 J = 1 cal?

The gas constant should be given in the two forms we are familiar with—joules or litre atmospheres. On this same equation sheet we are given the conversion factor you mentioned, so the conversion should be simple.
