Anti- Conformation

Postby Peter 14B » Sun Mar 06, 2016 11:21 pm

So in terms of stability,
0 degree is the least stable conformation while the 180 (Anti) is the most stable conformation??

Thanks

Yes because of the strain and the energy that is involved with 0 degree and 180 degree. (0 degree has higher E especially since the steric strain is so high/C's are too close and 180 degrees are lower because the C's are farthest away).
