Kinetics in organic rxns

Postby AndrewM2G » Fri Mar 03, 2017 2:50 pm

I was just a little confused about to what extent kinetics of organic reactions will be discussed on the quiz next week. I know that the Arrhenius equation and activation energy will be one of the topics discussed, but I remember hearing that there would be content about the kinetics of organic rxns. I wasn't sure exactly what was meant, as we have done little calculations in the organic chemistry section. Does this just refer to the Free energy of transition states?

I'm pretty sure that the kinetics of organic reactions, which refers to and takes into account the path or journey of the reaction rather than the final and initial in thermodynamics, is only about drawing the reactions (SN2 or electrophilic addition reaction) and showing the proper steps.
