### Problem E5

(A) The approximate population of Earth is 7.0 billion people. How many moles of people inhabit Earth?
(B) If all people were pea pickers, how long would it take for the entire population of Earth to pick 1 mol of peas at the rate of one pea per second, working 24 hours per day, 365 days per year?

Okay so for (A) I got 1.2 x 10^-14 mol and for (B) I got 2.7 x 10^6 years. Can anyone help verify these answers for me? If they're wrong can you show the correct way to get the answer? Thank you!

Your answers are correct, and you can check the answers to any odd problems in the back of the book or in the solutions manual.

Hello. For A.) I also got 1.2 x 10^-14mol. Although form answer was different for part B.) 2.6 x 10^6 years instead of 2.7. You can double check your work in the solutions manual, there answer is also 2.6. Hope it helps.

Is it one pea per second per PERSON, or just one pea per second OVERALL?
