Getting molecular formula from molecule name
At what point in this course should we know the molecular formulas for different molecules? (i.e. Nitric acid = HNO3)

My TA was telling us that we'd probably need to know how to name molecules after the first test. We may go over it in class, but I'm unsure as to when. I guess the sooner you start learning them, the better off you'll be for the next test.

From what I remember during lecture, someone asked if we would have to know that information prior to the test but Lavelle said no because we hadn't gone over it in class. So, I'm pretty sure we'll touch on it, but studying it independently is always an option.

It's a good idea to learn common chemical names as early as possible, as they come up frequently throughout the course.
