Naming Compounds on Test?

Postby Jaifreen_Bhangu_3K » Thu Oct 11, 2018 10:08 am

On the test will we be required to name complicated compounds given a molecular formula?

From what I've heard, we will be taught how to do that later on and so we shouldn't have to on the first test. However, I cannot promise anything.

Lavelle and the TAs don't have to write the reaction equation without being given the name of the compound yet

The UA talked about this a little in one of the review sessions. Basically he said you should know basic naming in addition to polyatomic ions or common compounds. In many practice questions in the textbook or midterm reviews though they often give you the name and then the formula after so don't stress too much.
